The player immediately received a yellow card. Ediberto de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Almir Pimentas short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Raúl de Barros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Almir Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ediberto de Carvalho in the 30th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Almir Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabofriense-RJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Almir Pimenta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl de Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Kauã Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Cabofriense-RJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. Raúl de Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Almir Pimenta's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Cabofriense-RJ's Albertinho Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Zézinho Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Carnaubinhas SS's Raúl de Barros got control of the ball when Kauã Rodrigues tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Cabofriense-RJ's José Augusto Brasil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raúl de Barros narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almir Pimenta to make the kick off. The supporters of Carnaubinhas SS booed when Cabofriense-RJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kauã Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cabofriense-RJ getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Almir Pimenta hit a great ball. Valdo Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Cabofriense-RJ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdo Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. Valdo Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Cabofriense-RJ were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Carnaubinhas SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Betão de Moraes took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Luís Fabiano Zanette managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Zézinho Santos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jaime Pernambucano firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zézinho Santos got free with Jaime Pernambucano in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If José Augusto Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Albertinho Marques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cabofriense-RJ's Almir Pimenta in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carnaubinhas SS's goalie prevented a goal. Almir Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cabofriense-RJ's Kauã Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Almir Pimenta might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raúl de Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Almir Pimenta ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute, Almir Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cabofriense-RJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. When the referee ended the match the Cabofriense-RJ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
