Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luís Fábio Arantes got the match started through his kick off. Kiko Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Piraim booed when Trempes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Luís Fábio Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piraim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Luís Fábio Arantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Edinho Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Clemente Sergipano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edinho Martins in the 31st minute of play forced Trempes's goalkeeper José Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fábio Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Sergipano having to interfere. Diamantino Bittencourt charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The wind increased when Frederico Mazza made the kick off in the second half. If Clemente Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kiko Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Mazza in the 97th minute of play. Kiko Arantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Mazza in the 100th minute of the match. The Piraim supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Piraim would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
