ROSÁRIO SPORT's Claudinei Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Ceresso in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Cobras Fumantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Neto to maneuver through the defense. Nelsinho Trancoso hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Romário Senna could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Percival Monteiro however easily saved by the left post. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by ROSÁRIO SPORT's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manoel Neto was slow to take the kick. During this time Cobras Fumantes's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Manoel Neto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudinei Proença quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Eusébio Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruy Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renatinho Ceresso took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinei Proença. Claudinei Proença dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 33 minutes into the match, ROSÁRIO SPORT's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Trancoso came free, but Claudinei Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percival Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. A collision led to Cobras Fumantes getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Zeca Alcântara hit a great ball. Cobras Fumantes's Evaristo Sabóia got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romário Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Cobras Fumantes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evaristo Sabóia to make the kick off. Nelsinho Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Claudinei Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cobras Fumantes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renatinho Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute Evaristo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cobras Fumantes's zone, Ruy Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Monteiro came out of the goal and Ruy Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renatinho Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of ROSÁRIO SPORT booed when Cobras Fumantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruy Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percival Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Ruy Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Evaristo Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinei Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Trancoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinei Proença. ROSÁRIO SPORT's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Trancoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 83 minutes in the game, Evaristo Sabóia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Claudinei Proença having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Evaristo Sabóia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Claudinei Proença. Evaristo Sabóia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Renatinho Ceresso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Claudinei Proença when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cobras Fumantes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
