Geremoabo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Válter da Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Inácio Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Inácio Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Inácio Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter da Silva in the 42nd minute of play forced Geremoabo's goalkeeper Gláuber de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlinhos Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Geremoabo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cafezopolis EC were winning 0-2.

Gláuber de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Velloso in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Fred Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Válter da Silva made a precise shot to the right of Gláuber de Barros. Geremoabo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Gláuber de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Válter da Silva got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 77 minutes into the match, Geremoabo's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Velloso came free, but Gláuber de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válter da Silva got free with Gláuber de Barros in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
