In the 13th match minute, Clube de Regatas Brasil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas de Lima to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Ponciano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Miranda came free, but Edgar Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Geovani Porto came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Clube de Regatas Brasil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Porto couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Zézinho Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube de Regatas Brasil's supporters rose to their feet, but Zézinho Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clube de Regatas Brasil's Mathias Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos da Silva in the 20th minute of play. In the 28th minute Zézinho Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Richard Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponciano FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube de Regatas Brasil the free kick. Richard Tavares hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Geovani Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zézinho Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Miranda in the 46th minute of play forced Ponciano FC's goalkeeper Edgar Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Botelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho Miranda's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zézinho Miranda to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Zézinho Miranda recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgar Botelho. Zézinho Miranda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Edgar Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Miranda in the 57th minute of the match. If Zézinho Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ponciano FC's zone, Rubens Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Botelho came out of the goal and Rubens Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zézinho Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Botelho was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Zézinho Miranda capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zézinho Miranda really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. If Luiz Eduardo Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Clube de Regatas Brasil booed when Ponciano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Eduardo Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enéas Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Alvarenga having to interfere. João Carlos da Silva hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Ponciano FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Clube de Regatas Brasil were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
