The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Silvério Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauã Soares in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Trairi SC's goal looked a bit too open when Cauã Soares came free, but Silvério Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Trairi SC booed when Biriguy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Trairi SC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Massa. Silvério Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Pedro Paulo Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Biriguy's Tião de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Ferreira in the 29th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Bernardo da Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Silvério Ferreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Soares in the 38th minute of play forced Trairi SC's goalkeeper Silvério Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgílio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tião de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luciano Freitas struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Tião de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trairi SC.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luciano Freitas made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Thiago Alagoano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Silvério Ferreira. Thiago Alagoano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. With a little luck, Trairi SC's Silvério Ferreira got control of the ball when Cauã Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute, Virgílio Ferreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trairi SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Tião de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Virgílio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Tião de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Cauã Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvério Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 71st minute, Samuel Valladares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Biriguy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After 76 played minutes Trairi SC got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Toscano. Virgílio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tião de Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luciano Freitas went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. After 86 played minutes Trairi SC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Miranda. 89 minutes into the match, Cauã Soares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvério Ferreira. Trairi SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cauã Soares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvério Ferreira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Biriguy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
