The referee ignored Pitombos EC's protests and gave Erivaldo Santana a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes, Estreito FC's Víktor Magalhães shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedrinho Hoffmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Estreito FC reached it. Estreito FC's Betão Dionísio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Estreito FC from getting a goal against them. Abel Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Betão Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pitombos EC's zone, Conrado Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Hoffmann came out of the goal and Conrado Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Estreito FC's Betão Dionísio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Estreito FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Abel Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pitombos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão Dionísio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Pitombos EC booed when Estreito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almir Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conrado Figueiredo took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrinho Hoffmann. Pedrinho Hoffmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tiaguinho Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedrinho Hoffmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pedrinho Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Figueiredo in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Estreito FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abel Araújo was the one to do the kick off. Almir Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Hoffmann having to interfere. If Conrado Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estreito FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
