Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) Galinha EC's Joélson Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Pitta in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Timbora's goalkeeper Hermínio Massa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Timbora got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar de Queiroz. If Luís Eduardo Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Pitta in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joélson Castro saved Galinha EC from getting behind. The supporters of Timbora booed when Galinha EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Pitta in the 16th minute of play forced Galinha EC's goalkeeper Joélson Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magno Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Galinha EC's Luís Eduardo Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermínio Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Trigo in the 20th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Joel Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galinha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Massa having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Simão Abraão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galinha EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Timbora the free kick. After a rather tough play, Galinha EC's Simão Abraão got a free kick in the 27th minute. Joel Trigo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hermínio Massa came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Trigo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 30th minute. Simão Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Timbora's Emanuel Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Galinha EC's Joélson Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Pitta in the 40th minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Joel Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galinha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute Simão Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Pitta was the one to do the kick off.
