Elói Favoretto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Rubinho França made a huge save. Tiago Gabriel Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Portella FC booed when Marvai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Portella FC's Rubinho França proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Portella FC from getting a goal against them. Rubinho França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edson Donato in the 15th minute of play forced Portella FC's goalkeeper Rubinho França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Portella FC's Rubinho França got control of the ball when Elói Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubinho França made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Elói Favoretto sent off a good shot on target. Charles Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waldir Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldir Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Gabriel Vinhas in the 24th minute of the match. João Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Toledo having to interfere. With a little luck, Portella FC's Rubinho França got control of the ball when Elói Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubinho França made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Eduardo Paiva sent off a good shot on target. Portella FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Gerson Cunha scored to the left of an out of position Rubinho França, making the score, 1-0. With a little luck, Portella FC's Rubinho França got control of the ball when Elói Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marvai's Gerson Cunha suffered a sore thigh after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Duda Vieira's late challenge caught a Marvai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duda Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Portella FC! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elói Favoretto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Agenor Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute, Elói Favoretto made a precise shot to the right of Rubinho França. Portella FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. João Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Toledo having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Edson Donato notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Portella FC's Rubinho França. Rubinho França was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A nice corner shot did that Waldemar Pernambucano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Waldir Toledo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Elói Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Guimarães during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Elói Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marvai's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói Favoretto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho França breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Marvai's zone, Tiago Gabriel Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Toledo came out of the goal and Tiago Gabriel Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiago Gabriel Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marvai walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
