Erivaldo Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chumbo's zone, Matías Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erivaldo Monteiro came out of the goal and Matías Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Eliézer Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C.Cocoricó's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliézer Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erivaldo Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oswaldo Arantes during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chumbo booed when S.C.Cocoricó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliézer Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Chumbo's Erivaldo Monteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Chumbo from getting a goal against them. Tomé Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Erivaldo Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erivaldo Monteiro was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Eliézer Almeida capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliézer Almeida to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Giovanni Ribeiro notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of S.C.Cocoricó's Fernão Arruda. Fernão Arruda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 65th minute Eliézer Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When André Luís Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When Giovanni Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Chumbo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute, Giovanni Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, S.C.Cocoricó's Virgílio Sabóia got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Emerson Sampaio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Tomé Messias came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the S.C.Cocoricó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomé Messias couldn't finish the play. Tomé Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tomé Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolo Reis, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 93rd minute, Cristiano Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C.Cocoricó fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Erivaldo Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Messias in the 99th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.C.Cocoricó fully deserved thier win.
