In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Botelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes in the game, Ediberto Brasil fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ronaldinho Botelho having to interfere. Elivélton de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Tobi's Luís Paulo Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Abraão in the 30th minute of play. Luís Paulo Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Abraão in the 41st minute of the match. Teodoro Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Gaúcho having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
