When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nestor Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caratinga AD's Fausto Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Ribeiro in the 51st minute of play. Fausto Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Nestor Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Martins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Dieguinho Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the VASNAITE C.S fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho Cearense couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Caratinga AD getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Zé Branco hit a great ball. Dieguinho Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Fausto Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that VASNAITE C.S were the better team. VASNAITE C.S's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
