If Dário Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Durvalino Vale to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Arí Lago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Edgar da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Munhoz in the 59th minute of the match. In the 63rd match minute, CR VASCO DA GAMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Quintal couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Eme SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
