In the 20th minute, Inácio Albuquerque ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cacá Matorin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Filipe Prata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cambalacho F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verdum SS the free kick. The supporters of Verdum SS booed when Cambalacho F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Filipe Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Eduardo Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Matorin having to interfere. Luiz Eduardo Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Verdum SS's Osmar da Costa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Verdum SS's zone, Inácio Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Matorin came out of the goal and Inácio Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cacá Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Albuquerque in the 37th minute of play. Giovanni Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Matorin having to interfere. Filipe Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Matorin having to interfere. Cacá Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Damião in the 45th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Verdum SS defense, Inácio Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cacá Matorin. The Verdum SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cacá Matorin should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Albuquerque was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Cambalacho F.C getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Edmundo Vieira hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanni Cardozo got free with Cacá Matorin in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the game, Cambalacho F.C's Inácio Albuquerque nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cacá Matorin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Cambalacho F.C's Filipe Prata slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cacá Matorin. That made the score 1-4 after 67 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Inácio Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambalacho F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cacá Matorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Verdum SS getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Kléberson Madureira hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Inácio Albuquerque left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cambalacho F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. In the 95th minute Inácio Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
