Argoim's Fiori de Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Argoim's goalkeeper Ulisses Hermes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Fiori de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pucazeiro EC's Evaristo Sena got control of the ball when Maurício da Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pucazeiro EC's Evaristo Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Pucazeiro EC from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Argoim's Fiori de Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evaristo Sena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fiori de Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Maurício da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Evaristo Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Sena was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Fiori de Souza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fiori de Souza really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Pucazeiro EC's Evaristo Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori de Souza in the 43rd minute of play. When Reginaldo Breckenfeld came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Pucazeiro EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. Fiori de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Evaristo Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fiori de Souza made a kick off. Reginaldo Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evaristo Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício da Cunha in the 96th minute of the match.
