Angelo Carvalho placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 29 minutes into the match, Edgard Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Borges. Piuma SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Leopoldo Souto took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Afonso Borges. Afonso Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Afonso Borges came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gralha's Rubinho Secco. But to his dismay, Rubinho Secco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvério Tróia got free with Conrado Azevedo in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Conrado Azevedo was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Silvério Tróia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvério Tróia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Afonso Borges made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Souto in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, Piuma SS's Afonso Borges got control of the ball when Edgard Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leopoldo Souto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Afonso Borges firmly grabbed it by the left post. 58 minutes into the match, Rubinho Secco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Afonso Borges, 1-4. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Afonso Borges successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 70 minutes into the match, Piuma SS's goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Secco came free, but Afonso Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonso Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubinho Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Favoretto got free with Afonso Borges in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Guto Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piuma SS's protests and gave Guto Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Piuma SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. After 81 minutes of play, Gralha's Leopoldo Souto made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonso Borges was left in no man's land by his defense there! 88 minutes into the game, Rubinho Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gralha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piuma SS the free kick. A collision led to Gralha getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rubinho Secco hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gralha's zone, Silvério Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Azevedo came out of the goal and Silvério Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Gralha's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Pacheco came free, but Conrado Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Piuma SS's Silvério Tróia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Conrado Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Gralha's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
