The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 15th minute of the match, Luís Guilherme Abreu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Renan Cavalcante was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edinho da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renan Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Luís Guilherme Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Cavalcante having to interfere. Ferreiro's Renan Cavalcante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ferreiro from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Ferreiro's Serginho Pinho got a free kick in the 29th minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Luís Guilherme Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FENGOLINO F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Guilherme Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Guilherme Abreu took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renan Cavalcante. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Pereira during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Ferreiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FENGOLINO F. C.:s goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edinho da Rocha made a kick off. Zé Augusto Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After 57 played minutes, Ferreiro's Vítor Pontes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wanderson Peres came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ferreiro reached it. Renan Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Wilian Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ferreiro defense, Edinho da Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renan Cavalcante. The Ferreiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Cavalcante should have stopped the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho da Rocha couldn't finish the play. FENGOLINO F. C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
