Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 严南明 in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredão Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 24 minutes, 严南明 made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Quixoba's Alfredão Barros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute of the match Allan Valladares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredão Barros skillfully saved the ball. If Allan Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Borges during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Samuel Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Crystal Palace's Diego Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Leite in the 37th minute of play. After 37 played minutes Crystal Palace got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Borges. After a rather tough play, Quixoba's Victor Meirelles got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If 严南明 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Crystal Palace were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Allan Valladares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredão Barros came out and tried to block the shot, but Allan Valladares slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 64th minute. If 严南明 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Conrado Teles hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, 严南明 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crystal Palace fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Meirelles during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfredão Barros acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Allan Valladares. 75 minutes into the match, Gino Leite notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Crystal Palace's Diego Costa. Diego Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Diego Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falcão Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Diego Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Meirelles in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 91st minute Falcão Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Borges struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Alfredão Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crystal Palace. The audience thought a goal was coming when 严南明 got free with Alfredão Barros in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 97th minute of the match Samuel Borges completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Samuel Borges a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 96th minute, one of Crystal Palace:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Crystal Palace. The referee gave Quixoba a penalty, 101 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Egídio Mineiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Crystal Palace's Diego Costa. 2-5. When the final whistle sounded Crystal Palace left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quixoba.
