In the 6th minute Andrézinho Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, EC Piratininga's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Velloso came free, but Geraldo Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Alves tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Geraldo Prata. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute, Afonso Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A.F. YPIRANGA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cido Neiva in the 32nd minute. Cesinha Ferraz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geraldo Prata having to make a save. Geraldo Prata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of EC Piratininga booed when A.F. YPIRANGA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luan de Sena to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, EC Piratininga's Luan de Sena got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of A.F. YPIRANGA booed when EC Piratininga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. EC Piratininga's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Andrézinho Pombal 58 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. Cleiton Lago's late challenge caught a A.F. YPIRANGA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleiton Lago helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, EC Piratininga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton Lago to maneuver through the defense. Gil Velloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geraldo Prata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Pombal in the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to A.F. YPIRANGA getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. José Pedro Freire hit a great ball. Raí Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the game, A.F. YPIRANGA's Gil Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Prata made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. A.F. YPIRANGA's Raí Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto do Nascimento in the 79th minute of play. Geraldo Prata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiago Lima went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Gil Velloso struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Geraldo Prata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.F. YPIRANGA. In the 89th minute, João Carlos Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC Piratininga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. Andrézinho Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Geraldo Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over A.F. YPIRANGA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than EC Piratininga throughout the match.
