The referee ignored Tapora SS's protests and gave Marquinhos Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. Marquinhos Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Correntes EC's Osvaldo Fantini got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Osvaldo Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Reynaldo Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Osvaldo Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Fantini might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Correntes EC defense, Anderson Brasil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frank Prata. The Correntes EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frank Prata should have stopped the shot. Correntes EC's Frank Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Pinheiro in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute of the match Tapora SS got a corner. Correntes EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erivaldo Goiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jano da Mata was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
