After a defensive mix-up in Muricizal EC's zone, João Augusto Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Abreu came out of the goal and João Augusto Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Mazinho Abreu made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when João Augusto Braga sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, João Augusto Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Paulista Desport's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fellipe Massa was the one to do the kick off. Muricizal EC's Mazinho Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Braga in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st minute, João Augusto Braga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mazinho Abreu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 66th match minute, Muricizal EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Martins to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Fellipe Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tales Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes, Gonçalo Viana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muricizal EC and the Atletico Paulista Desport players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Gonçalo Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Atletico Paulista Desport's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Massa came free, but Tales Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Atletico Paulista Desport fans cheered their team off the field, for while Muricizal EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
