Yuri do Nascimento's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Massa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Forteleza AD's Joélson Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joélson Torres to make the kick off. S. C. CORINTHIANS P.'s Jonathan Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Torres in the 53rd minute of play. If Adrianinho de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 57 minutes, Murilo Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Forteleza AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murilo Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Geovani Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Massa was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
