With a left leg Diguinho Pombal saved Slayers F.C from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Luizinho Messias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Telmo Recife. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Slayers F.C's zone, Osvaldinho Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diguinho Pombal came out of the goal and Osvaldinho Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th match minute, Slayers F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Paraense to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fernando Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diguinho Pombal having to interfere. When José Maria Freire fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slayers F.C's protests and gave José Maria Freire a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Slayers F.C's José Maria Freire got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute, Cássio Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Slayers F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 24th minute, Luizinho Messias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Felipe Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Slayers F.C's zone, Luiz Fernando Pirani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diguinho Pombal came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Pirani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dito Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dito Hermes struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Diguinho Pombal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Negro.

Dito Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Slayers F.C getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Luizinho Messias hit a great ball. Negro's Felipe Paraense got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Fernando Pirani's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Diguinho Pombal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Osvaldinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fernando Pirani got free with Diguinho Pombal in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Fernando Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Diguinho Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Slayers F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luiz Fernando Pirani fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 81st minute, Luiz Fernando Pirani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Slayers F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fernando Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Luiz Fernando Pirani came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Negro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fernando Pirani couldn't finish the play.
