Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 5th minute Toninho Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Cosme in the 6th minute of play forced Codozinho FC's goalkeeper Mazinho Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho Cosme struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Mazinho Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iconha. Iconha's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luís Eduardo Catarinense in the 13th minute. Mazinho Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Luís Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Hortêncio Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Codozinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luciano Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Toninho Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Toninho Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toninho Cosme made a kick off. Luciano Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Betinho Marques in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Hortêncio Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute of the match Rui da Mata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mazinho Furtado skillfully saved the ball. In the 66th match minute, Codozinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Toninho Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iconha's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Furtado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mazinho Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toninho Cosme's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toninho Cosme in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mazinho Furtado saved Codozinho FC from getting behind. After having played for 76 minutes, Toninho Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iconha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aílton Novaes sped through Codozinho FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mazinho Furtado. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Toninho Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iconha's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Furtado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aílton Novaes scored 2-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mazinho Furtado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Iconha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Codozinho FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
