Spectators: 7213 (Terracing: 5411, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Délio Mesquita started the match with the kick off. Dráuzio Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Bastos having to interfere. After 7 minutes, Paulo José Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bastioes SC and the Rio Rubro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Bastioes SC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo José Trancoso. Diguinho Valadares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Manuel Bastos made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Rubro's zone, Francisco Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Rosa came out of the goal and Francisco Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Maria Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Francisco Paranaense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bastioes SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Paulo José Trancoso hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th match minute, Bastioes SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Lopez to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Délio Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Rubro's supporters rose to their feet, but Délio Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Délio Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Bastioes SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rio Rubro:s goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Paranaense to strike the kick off in the second half. Manuel Bastos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Délio Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 59th minute Francisco Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dráuzio Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Rio Rubro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráuzio Cearense couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the game, Dráuzio Cearense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Manuel Bastos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Bastioes SC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Paulo José Trancoso hit a great ball. 67 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Rio Rubro's Délio Mesquita fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Paulo José Trancoso got his second yellow card in the match during the 71st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 72 played minutes Bastioes SC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo José Trancoso. In the 75th play minute José Maria Bezerra came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised César Rosa. 2-2. Francisco Paranaense hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the game, Rio Rubro's Délio Mesquita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Bastos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Bastioes SC's Manuel Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Cearense in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of Bastioes SC booed when Rio Rubro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diguinho Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Délio Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Manuel Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Francisco Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Rio Rubro players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
