El Otro's Leandro de Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save El Otro from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Falcão Araújo during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, El Otro's Falcão Araújo got a free kick in the 13th minute. El Otro's Leandro de Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save El Otro from getting a goal against them. Faustão Prata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leandro de Lima came out and tried to block the shot, but Faustão Prata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Batateira EC's Charles da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leandro de Lima was a little too slow when Charles da Fonseca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Charles da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustão Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro de Lima having to interfere. When Batateira EC's Charles da Fonseca in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Otro's goalie prevented a goal. 46 minutes into the match, Batateira EC's Charles da Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leandro de Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Genílson Arósio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Belchior Tasso was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charles da Fonseca to make the kick off. Faustão Prata took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leandro de Lima. Leandro de Lima dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Leandro de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Prata in the 62nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Claudinei Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batateira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinei Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leandro de Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Batateira EC's Belchior Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo de Medeiros in the 70th minute of play. Erivaldo dos Santos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leandro de Lima. El Otro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 78th play minutes Charles da Fonseca shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Leandro de Lima and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 84th minute, Lúcio Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro de Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles da Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Gernando Neto's late challenge caught a Batateira EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gernando Neto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, El Otro's Gernando Neto got a free kick in the 86th minute. A collision led to Batateira EC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jeremias Varela hit a great ball. In the 91st minute, Charles da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeremias Varela did an outstanding performance 93 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 5-0 to the right of an irritated Leandro de Lima in the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Batateira EC had played much better football throughout.
