Romeu Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeu Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to real madrid getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Romeu Gaspar hit a great ball. In the 12th minute of the match Carlos Alberto Gomes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jardel Batista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Ismael Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. real madrid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limeiro SC the free kick. After 13 played minutes real madrid got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Esteves. When Nilmar da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the real madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilmar da Cunha couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar da Cunha in the 19th minute of play forced Limeiro SC's goalkeeper Claudinho Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dito Godoi hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Limeiro SC's Claudinho Quintal got control of the ball when Ismael Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kiko Urbano struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jardel Batista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limeiro SC. Claudinho Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Esteves in the 53rd minute of play. After 57 played minutes Limeiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Carioca. In the 58th minute Nilmar da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Nilmar da Cunha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The real madrid fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 64 minutes of play, real madrid's Ismael Esteves made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kiko Urbanos short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Jardel Batista to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Acácio Diniz's late challenge caught a Limeiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Acácio Diniz helped the player get up and apologised. Kiko Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
