Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vivaldo Lago made the kick off and thus started the match. Cristóvão Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Zé Pedro Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Enrique Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Vigia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Quirino couldn't finish the play. When Evaristo de Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caruauba's protests and gave Evaristo de Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Caruauba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Araújo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 16th playminute. Caruauba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vigia the free kick. The supporters of Vigia booed when Caruauba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristóvão Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Pedro Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Miguel Sousa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 49 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Caruauba fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 49th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Vigia a penalty, 51 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jean Gaspar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Caruauba's Zé Pedro Dias. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Pedro Rosado during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Vigia booed when Caruauba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Caruauba's zone, Cristóvão Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Pedro Dias came out of the goal and Cristóvão Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute Enrique Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Pedro Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Quirino in the 71st minute of the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Vivaldo Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caruauba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90thth minute of the game Enrique Quirino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caruauba's Zé Pedro Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Quirino struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Zé Pedro Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vigia. Cristóvão Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
