After a defensive mix-up in Paulista F.C.'s zone, Benedito Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Paulista F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Gernando Coutinho scored to the left of an out of position Nico Ramos, making the score, 2-0.
