The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Guando EC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian da Costa came free, but Cássio Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Correia got free with Váldson Bittencourt in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cássio Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Aguiar in the 41st minute of play. But to his dismay, Alexsandro Vinhas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Váldson Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Correia in the 63rd minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Váldson Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
