In the 6th match minute, Thomar SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Camargo to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Thomar SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Lara came free, but Vânderson Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Fred Tepedino sped through Thomar SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vânderson Tavares. PSV Paulista's Ezequiel Lara managed to work through Thomar SC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ezequiel Lara dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ezequiel Lara in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vânderson Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Esteves hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Vânderson Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Lara in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as PSV Paulista's Ezequiel Lara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vânderson Tavares. That made the score 3-0 after 34 minutes of play. After 38 played minutes PSV Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Betinho do Valle. In the 43rd minute, José Paulo Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vânderson Tavares made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Ezequiel Lara sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ezequiel Lara made a kick off. After some careless play in the Thomar SC defense, Ezequiel Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vânderson Tavares. The Thomar SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vânderson Tavares should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Tepedino in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vânderson Tavares saved Thomar SC from getting behind. In the 76thth minute of the game Ezequiel Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thomar SC's Vânderson Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Thomar SC's zone, Fred Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vânderson Tavares came out of the goal and Fred Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vânderson Tavares was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Fred Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vânderson Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fred Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. Vânderson Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Ezequiel Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vânderson Tavares was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Ruy Camargo charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruy Camargo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. There was no doubt that PSV Paulista were the better team. PSV Paulista's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
