Abelardo Maranhense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Doriva Abreu made a huge save. In the 48th minute Douglas Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Douglas Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Metropolitano SC's Abelardo Maranhense in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a left leg Doriva Abreu saved Baeta from getting behind. Baeta's Doriva Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Silva in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Abelardo Maranhense made a precise shot to the right of Doriva Abreu. Baeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. In the 83rd minute Abelardo Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baeta's Doriva Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Silva in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Baeta's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Silva came free, but Doriva Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Baeta defense, Douglas Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doriva Abreu. The Baeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doriva Abreu should have stopped the shot. Doriva Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Bartuelo in the 92nd minute of play. Doriva Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Silva in the 93rd minute of the match. Abelardo Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Abreu having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Metropolitano SC fully deserved thier win.
