Pré-Sal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Adolfo Toscano scored to the left of an out of position Christiano Dionísio, making the score, 1-0. Adolfo Toscano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Christiano Dionísio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Madureira in the 25th minute of play forced Pré-Sal's goalkeeper Christiano Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Pinhais's Christiano Dionísio threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Walmir Maia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. During the 38th minute of the match Jerônimo Linhares completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jerônimo Linhares a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Pré-Sal's Jerônimo Linhares got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 42nd minute, Adolfo Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remo Hoffmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlinhos Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Remo Hoffmann in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Toscano in the 61st minute of play forced Pré-Sal's goalkeeper Christiano Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano Dionísio came out of the goal and Simão Madureira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Pré-Sal's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Madureira came free, but Christiano Dionísio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão Madureira in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Dionísio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simão Madureira in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christiano Dionísio saved Pré-Sal from getting behind. Adolfo Toscano might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Dionísio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolfo Toscano ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Pinhais booed when Pré-Sal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pré-Sal's zone, Walmir Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Dionísio came out of the goal and Walmir Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute Adolfo Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Christiano Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pinhais walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
