Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Silvinho Nunes got the match started through his kick off. Betinho Quadros made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Tupi Footbal Clube's Juarês Pinheiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Viana in the 5th minute of play forced Pinhais's goalkeeper Carlinhos Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Viana scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlinhos Tavares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aírton Penha might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlinhos Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aírton Penha ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Pinhais's Simão Madureira got a free kick in the 18th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Silvinho Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tupi Footbal Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvinho Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aírton Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Ernesto Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlinhos Tavares. Pinhais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Marquinhos Vides hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Aírton Penha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlinhos Tavares. Pinhais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Carlinhos Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Simão Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tupi Footbal Clube's Artur Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Tupi Footbal Clube from getting a goal against them. Pinhais's Carlinhos Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Nunes in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Pinhais's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Prata came free, but Carlinhos Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After 52 played minutes Pinhais got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Maia. Artur Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Madureira in the 54th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Pinhais:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tupi Footbal Clube:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aírton Penha in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlinhos Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 64 minutes into the game, Franklin Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pinhais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tupi Footbal Clube the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Pinhais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Passos to maneuver through the defense. Silvinho Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Haroldo Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 played minutes Tupi Footbal Clube got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Prata. Carlinhos Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvinho Nunes in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvinho Nunes in the 84th minute of play forced Pinhais's goalkeeper Carlinhos Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Artur Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pinhais booed when Tupi Footbal Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Silvinho Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvinho Nunes went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. The Pinhais fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tupi Footbal Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
