In the 5thth minute of the game Percival Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but REAL MADRI's Diamantino Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ermidinha's Percival Mineiro in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye REAL MADRI's goalie prevented a goal. In the 10th minute, Lúcio Jacinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Paulo Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With an all-out effort, REAL MADRI's Zé Paulo Ortiz threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dadá Saldanha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Diamantino Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luiz Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 26 in the game by Dadá Saldanha from a close distance when the talented Zé Paulo Ortiz managed to make a qualified save. Ermidinha's players were relieved. A collision led to Ermidinha getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Wanderson Torres hit a great ball. Zé Paulo Ortiz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breno Secco went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 39thth minute of the game Percival Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but REAL MADRI's Diamantino Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dadá Saldanha to make the kick off. When Dadá Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the REAL MADRI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dadá Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Zé Paulo Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Saldanha in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Ermidinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelson Romero to maneuver through the defense. Örjan Torsberg made in the 67th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tomás Ferreira immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, REAL MADRI's Raí Hermes got a free kick in the 69th minute. Ermidinha's Zé Paulo Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Saldanha in the 72nd minute of play. Lúcio Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes in the game, Enio Sá fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Diamantino Quirino having to interfere. Diamantino Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ermidinha.
