Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nildo de Queiroz took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mateus Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo Baiano having to interfere. Luiz Eduardo Paulista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luiz Eduardo Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Celestes FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Silvinho Dantas hit a great ball. Mateus Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nildo Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Silvinho Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrézinho Sarmento did an outstanding performance 41 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-1 to the right of an irritated Carlos Augusto Simão in the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Eduardo Paulista to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Nildo de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. parnahyba's Mateus Proença got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 61 minutes, Andrézinho Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celestes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrézinho Sarmento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Augusto Simão was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Andrézinho Sarmento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andrézinho Sarmento really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Washington França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Carlos Augusto Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nildo Baiano came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by parnahyba's Nildo de Queiroz. But to his dismay, Nildo de Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 3-2 came in the 86th minute when Nildo de Queiroz all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Nildo Baiano. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Washington França during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Washington França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. parnahyba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
