In the 24th minute, Jano Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Michel Donatello managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Curumatahy EC's Breno Fernandez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gugu Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Guilherme de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Mota's late challenge caught a Favorita EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fábio Mota helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Favorita EC booed when Curumatahy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oséas Paiva, 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Favorita EC's João Carlos Prata got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute of the match Tales Monteiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guilherme de Andrade skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Breno Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. Breno Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Curumatahy EC's Luís Eduardo Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, João Adolfo Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 59 minutes on the clock, Geovânio Proença commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Guilherme de Andrade had in the 61stth minute some difficulties stopping Oséas Paiva's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 62nd minute, Luís Eduardo Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Curumatahy EC's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Fontes came free, but Guilherme de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Luís Eduardo Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilherme de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Fontes in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th match minute, Curumatahy EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Adolfo Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Curumatahy EC's Guilherme de Andrade got control of the ball when João Carlos Prata tried to sneak it across the goal line. João Carlos Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute of the match Claudinho Jacinto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guilherme de Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Favorita EC's Gugu Fontes got a free kick in the 90th minute. Luís Eduardo Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Favorita EC's Gugu Fontes in the 93rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Guilherme de Andrade was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Curumatahy EC through an amazing save. João Adolfo Cardoso hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Guilherme de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Fontes in the 95th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Favorita EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo Paes came free, but Michel Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
