In the 12th minute of the match, Américo Maranhense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gino Vidal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 15 minutes into the match, Pinda's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Maranhense came free, but Gino Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Américo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Américo Maranhense in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gino Vidal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Américo Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Vidal having to interfere. Gino Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Maranhense in the 24th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Lima might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Germano Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Roberto Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. Kléber Pitta hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute of the match Rony de Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Germano Moraes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Lima in the 42nd minute of play forced Pendurao's goalkeeper Germano Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Maranhense in the 43rd minute of play forced Pinda's goalkeeper Gino Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germano Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Lima in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidnei Gerber made a kick off. Sidnei Gerber blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Germano Moraes having to make a save. Germano Moraes was a little too slow when Sidnei Gerber got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-4. Germano Moraes stood somewhat misplaced when Sidnei Gerber came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 82 minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Nilmar de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilmar de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute Pinda were awarded a corner. Duarte Toledo went to the cornerflag to take it. Zé Roberto Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Germano Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Sidnei Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinda's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidnei Gerber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Germano Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pinda's Gino Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Maranhense in the 95th minute of play.
