Nantes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecomp the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Nantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matías Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Waldemar Ferrazs short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Hamílton Paranaense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 16th minute, Ecomp's Cléber Aguiar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 24 played minutes Nantes got a freekick which was hit by Breno Brasil. 27 minutes into the match, Nantes's goalkeeper Hamílton Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Pedro Guerra. Hamílton Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Ferraz in the 29th minute. 2-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Waldemar Ferraz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Waldemar Ferrazs short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Hamílton Paranaense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Waldemar Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvinho Prado might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hamílton Paranaense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvinho Prado ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 40 minutes, Waldemar Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecomp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Nantes's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Ferraz came free, but Hamílton Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Nantes's zone, Armindo Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamílton Paranaense came out of the goal and Armindo Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Waldemar Ferraz made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Waldemar Ferraz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hamílton Paranaense was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Roberto Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nantes's zone, Waldemar Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamílton Paranaense came out of the goal and Waldemar Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldemar Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hamílton Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamílton Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Ferraz in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Waldemar Ferraz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamílton Paranaense was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Hamílton Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Nantes booed when Ecomp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Afonso Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nantes's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Varela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Tepedino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamílton Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Ferraz in the 73rd minute of the match. Waldemar Ferraz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hamílton Paranaense having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo de Almeida in the 81st minute of play forced Ecomp's goalkeeper João Augusto Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldemar Ferraz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hamílton Paranaense having to make a save. Leopoldo Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Hamílton Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldemar Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes Ecomp got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Brodel. In the 95th minute, Armindo Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Ecomp players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
