The referee showed Moisés Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Nipoa AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moisés Veiga to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Muzambinho's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Couto came free, but Arí Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute Murilo Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Frederico Couto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arí Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Rômulo Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Muzambinho were furious when Nilton Sá was red carded, 36 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 36 minutes into the game, one of Muzambinho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Nipoa AD. Franklin Domingues stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arí Ortiz. 0-2. In the 42ndth minute of the game Frederico Couto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Muzambinho's Arí Ortiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Nelsinho Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muzambinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Muzambinho booed when Nipoa AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Nipoa AD's Diguinho Amaral got control of the ball when Rômulo Albuquerque tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rômulo Albuquerque made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklin Domingues got free with Arí Ortiz in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arí Ortiz was a little too slow when Murilo Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-4. Diguinho Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo Albuquerque's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Rômulo Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Murilo Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, André Luís Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Murilo Novaes hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Diguinho Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Albuquerque in the 82nd minute of the match. After 85 played minutes Muzambinho got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Damião. Frederico Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Arí Ortiz made a huge save. In the 89th minute Ivo Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
