The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Couto got free with Hudson Chaves in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 6 played minutes O líder voltou got a freekick which was hit by Manoel Damião. Manoel Damião hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Nipoa AD's Frederico Couto got a free kick in the 12th minute. Diguinho Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Domingues in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of O líder voltou booed when Nipoa AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Nipoa AD's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Hoffmann came free, but Diguinho Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Ivo Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Nipoa AD's Hudson Chaves threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Murilo Novaes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. O líder voltou's Hudson Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save O líder voltou from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute of the match Franklin Domingues sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hudson Chaves skillfully saved the ball. Frederico Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Chaves having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abelardo Hoffmann to make the kick off. Hudson Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hudson Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 58 played minutes Nipoa AD got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Maia. When Oséias Chaves fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nipoa AD's protests and gave Oséias Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edson Domingues in the 62nd minute of play forced Nipoa AD's goalkeeper Diguinho Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manoel Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manoel Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Edson Domingues took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Diguinho Amaral to make any attempt to save it. When Manoel Damião was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. After 78 played minutes O líder voltou got a freekick which was hit by Manoel Damião. In the 80th match minute, O líder voltou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Macario to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to O líder voltou getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Edson Domingues hit a great ball. Abelardo Hoffmann struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Diguinho Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for O líder voltou. When the match was over O líder voltou could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Nipoa AD throughout the match.
