Sílvio Luís Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Quirino having to interfere. If Pedrão Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedrão Gaúcho in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ademar Brasil, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Donato Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luís Lucas in the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Caioca's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrão Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademar Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Caioca had won after a very even match.
