The audience was convinced that Cléberson Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simão Barreto was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Simão Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macinha SS. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Messias in the 64th minute of play forced Ubaia's goalkeeper Simão Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Ubaia's Manfredo Freitas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dito Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 77 minutes into the game, Macinha SS's Nilton Hoffmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
