Spectators: 7230 (Terracing: 5424, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Mauro Zonta started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Dedé Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Thomás Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuca de Carvalho's late challenge caught a Trapoa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuca de Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cosstana getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Samuca de Carvalho hit a great ball. Cosstana's Thomás Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Britto in the 10th minute of play. Trapoa's Nilmar da Rocha suffered a sore thigh after 10 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Faustão Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Faustão Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ediberto Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Cosstana's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo Britto came free, but Thomás Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Eduardo Britto in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomás Pena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lúcio Nascimento made in the 21st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Joaquim Barreto. A collision led to Cosstana getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Wilton Donatello hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Goiano during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Caetano Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Trapoa's Luís Eduardo Britto in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cosstana's goalie prevented a goal. After 32 played minutes Cosstana got a freekick which was hit by Samuca de Carvalho. Thomás Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé Prata in the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cosstana's zone, Dedé Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Pena came out of the goal and Dedé Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44thth minute of the game Luís Eduardo Britto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cosstana's Thomás Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Luís Eduardo Britto sped through Cosstana's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thomás Pena. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A sloppy throw-in by Lúcio Nascimento in the 56th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Trapoa's Gilmar Saraiva. Dedé Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Luís Eduardo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trapoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Eduardo Britto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Trapoa booed when Cosstana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomás Pena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Eduardo Britto's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Thomás Pena came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Trapoa's Dedé Prata. But to his dismay, Dedé Prata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Dedé Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trapoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedé Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Luís Eduardo Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dedé Prata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomás Pena having to make a save. After 88 played minutes Cosstana got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Barreto. Thomás Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94thth minute of the game Luís Eduardo Britto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cosstana's Thomás Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cosstana's Thomás Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Britto in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Trapoa could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cosstana throughout the match.
