The supporters of Coqueiros booed when Cosstana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Francisco Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomás Pena made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Cássio de Souza sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Cosstana's zone, Gernando Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Pena came out of the goal and Gernando Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuca de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Francisco Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuca de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Francisco Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Mauro Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Mauro Zonta made the kick off in the second half. The Coqueiros fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Coqueiros's Gernando Baiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Samuca de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Mauro Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Cosstana's Mauro Zonta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Trancoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Cosstana booed when Coqueiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th play minute Samuca de Carvalho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Francisco Trancoso. 2-2. Cássio de Souza struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Thomás Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coqueiros. Gernando Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomás Pena having to interfere. Cristian de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes, Coqueiros's Christiano Prata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomás Pena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coqueiros reached it. 83 minutes into the match, Coqueiros's goalkeeper Francisco Trancoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuca de Carvalho. Samuca de Carvalho took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Francisco Trancoso. Francisco Trancoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Faustão Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Francisco Trancoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosstana. The Cosstana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cosstana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
