The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th play minute Custódio Brito came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gernando Pinheiro. 1-0. In the 10th minute, Macuje AD's Custódio Brito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gernando Pinheiro. Gernando Pinheiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 13 minutes in the game, Custódio Brito fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gernando Pinheiro having to interfere. The supporters of Macuje AD booed when Canavial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vânderson Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Armando Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Macuje AD's Angelo Dante dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. After having played for 33 minutes, Custódio Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macuje AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Custódio Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Custódio Brito recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gernando Pinheiro. Custódio Brito showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Custódio Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robinho Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Gernando Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macuje AD. A collision led to Canavial getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Lino Brodel hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

In the 52nd match minute, Canavial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Loyola to maneuver through the defense. If Arí Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arí Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gernando Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Custódio Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Custódio Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Arce in the 74th minute of play forced Macuje AD's goalkeeper Vânderson Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arí Peres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Vânderson Guimarães made a huge save. The supporters of Macuje AD booed when Canavial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Robinho Alvarenga advanced and headed the ball into goal, 5-0 in the 87th minute. In the 96th minute, Bruno de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Canavial's Gernando Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Pena in the 97th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Macuje AD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
