If Leopoldo do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, Norwich City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Paraense to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Samuel AD booed when Norwich City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdir Freire was a little too slow when Diamantino Branco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Evaristo Koldobika made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Evaristo Koldobika kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fred de Alcântara. That made the score 1-3 in the 55 minute of play. Reginaldo Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred de Alcântara having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, Norwich City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Koldobika's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fred de Alcântara was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute Anselmo Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel AD's Júnior Dracena shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fred de Alcântara but with some difficulty. A collision led to Samuel AD getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Murilo Almeida hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Norwich City FC's Luciano Bezerra got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
