An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Borges in the 21st minute of play forced Internacional's goalkeeper Luiz Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Afonso Mumbach fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Internacional's protests and gave Afonso Mumbach a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Dornelas's zone, Iuri Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Rezende came out of the goal and Iuri Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Internacional's Iuri Braga in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natanael Leal in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Leal in the 57th minute of play. Iuri Braga might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francisco Rezende. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iuri Braga ran back to his position shaking his head. 63 minutes into the game, Maurinho Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Dornelas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Internacional the free kick. Maurinho Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Iuri Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Francisco Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sport Dornelas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iuri Braga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0.
