When Doni Luz came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the JUVENTUS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doni Luz couldn't finish the play. Giovanni Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Sá having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, JUVENTUS F.C's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovanni Baptista. 12 minutes into the match, Renan Urbano notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cotejipe AD's Gugu Romero. Gugu Romero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Cotejipe AD getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hudson Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hudson Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Cotejipe AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of JUVENTUS F.C:s goal. JUVENTUS F.C's Doni Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luiz Fabiano de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JUVENTUS F.C's protests and gave Luiz Fabiano de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Cotejipe AD a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hudson Mazza, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of JUVENTUS F.C's Luís Fernando Sá. 1-2. Fiori Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Luís Fernando Sá made a huge save. Nicolas Donato hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Cacá Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cotejipe AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. 68 minutes into the game, Cotejipe AD's Cacá Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fernando Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. In the 72nd minute, Giovanni Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Fernando Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Cacá Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Sá having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Narciso de Alcântara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JUVENTUS F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cotejipe AD the free kick. After 83 played minutes JUVENTUS F.C got a freekick which was hit by Narciso de Alcântara. JUVENTUS F.C's Luís Fernando Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Soares in the 85th minute of play. Cacá Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fernando Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Soares ran back to his position shaking his head. Cotejipe AD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
