Caco Galvão charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caco Galvão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Torrense getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Caco Galvão hit a great ball. Matheus Andrade, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Marcinho Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After a rather tough play, Castelandia FC's Hortêncio Ferreira got a free kick in the 35th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio Ferreira in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Freitas to make the kick off.
